Description
Inspired from the ancient engravings of skymaps, “l’Instantanée originale” is the only model of our collection where the hours are actually written in every letter. This peculiarity has ensued a tremendous public success. The drawing is nicely highlighted by the play of colors on the dial, which combines nicely a cream colored background with the red pad printed, perfectly adjusted with the light grey watchband.
THE MOVEMENT:
At this time our watches are equipped with the swiss hand wound caliber AS1012 or its declinations. These movements 51/2” were manufactured between 1930 and 1970, a time when these mechanical jewels shone on the whole world. It was a mechanism of choice then adopted by many brands for the reliability of its conception. Often coming from melting, these movements were stripped when their owners wished to retrieve the precious materials of the casing, to create a new jewel or simply to earn some money. Nowadays, we use and associate them to new pieces in timeless watches.
THE WATCH CASE:
The watchcase of the “instantanée” is round shaped and made in satin finish stainless steel 316L. It is built in two parts clipsed together : the middle watch case and the caseback. The caseback is engraved and openworked with an eyecup which lets partially oversee the wheelworks under the case. Its small sizing, contained in only 37mm, reminds that of the ancient watches, yet more sober and equally fitting women or men wrists.
THE WATCH CROWN:
Our crown is engraved with the logo of the brand and has a partial notching on 240°. Its orientation, at the right or the left of the watch case depends entirely on the desire of the owner.
THE DIAL:
The watch dial is simple again. You will find hours, minutes, and the name of the brand in the center. Those marks are made thanks to the process of pad printing, using engraved clichés, an age-old technique formerly invented by and for the watchmakers, yet still in use nowadays in many other domains.
THE HANDS:
With their “Stick” shape, they bear a refinement and finesse that links us softly to the present time.
THE WATCHBAND:
For their manufacturing, the Semper & Adhuc workshop has chosen to work in partnership with a leather craftsman from Bordeaux, Mr. Vincent Jacquinot. All the leathers used are of french origin, specifically selected for our watches, so that we could offer a range of high quality, which traceability is controllable.
THE LUXURY CASKET :
The caskets are made of machined cork and decorated with golden heated cardboard. The watch is held in its secure position thanks to a smart japanese clip. You will also find with your time keeper its instruction manual, as well as the certificate of international guarantee. The necessary tool to change your bracelet will also be included.
